I just moved to Fort Lauderdale from San Diego and wanted to try a Chinese restaurant. I love Chinese food and enjoy several fine Chinese restaurants in San Diego. First, I found the atmosphere at Rainbow Palace much more inviting than the average Chinese restaurant. It definitely has an upscale feel. And the service was impeccable! Very impressive. However, the food was extremely disappointing. I ordered two dishes: the fried rice, and the orange chicken. The fried rice was basically a plate of white rice with no flavoring with a few pieces of vegetable. I've eaten Chinese food all over the world, and this was the most tasteless dish of fried rice I've ever experienced. The most insulting aspect was the charge of $17--outrageous, to say the least. The orange step was better than the fried rice, but that's not saying a lot. Orange chicken is one of my favorite dishes, and I was disappointed because I wanted more sauce and less vegetables. Considering the totality of the dish, it just wasn't a great recipe. The price: a ridiculous $28. Sadly, I won't ever be returning to this restaurant!

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant, and at the top of our go-to list of restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. We love the crispy duck! And the crispy steak, the crispy fish dishes...Anything crispy is great. The lobster dumpling appetizers are absolutely delicious, we always order them. Beautiful setting, definitely more upscale than most Chinese restaurants. On the expensive side, but worth it.

I've been driving by here for years Finally dove in. Upon entry, I was impressed by the initial decor. As you walk in, as you go through the dining room the decor is a little aged and very brightly lit. The bar area is nice The menu seems to have the same tasty sauce but limited variety. The grand mariner sauce is very good (we had scallops and duck) but as the food came by, it all looks the same I am not one to complain too much about price if it's warranted. Best takeout food ever. Ive never dined in but ive had takeout from here a few times and its gourmet and delicious. No weird fatty meats like most chinese food restaurants. I recommend sesame chicken, szechuan chicken and vegetable lo mein. One of these days when im not dressed so casual i may dine in :)

The food is good and service is great. Extensive wine list and food is perfected. But you have to pay a lot for all that. Tip: if you get take prices are 30-40% cheaper! Yes you forego the table side service but is that worth that much more plus another 20% tip? I think not. I won't be back for dine-in but will get take out. Lobster dumplings are good and worth a try. Specialty won ton soup not that special. Chinese eggplant was excellent -way different from American eggplant.

Another outstanding meal at Rainbow Palace. Place was crowded to the gills last night (Valentine's Day). Crowd made up of the wealthy regulars and newcomers. I hate to call it a Chinese Restaurant because the majority of people assume Chinese food stands for large portions of somewhat suspect animal meat and other who knows what condiments but for those of us privileged to eat at fine Chinese restaurants around the World, we can appreciate the best and hate the worst. Rainbow Palace defies your corner Chinese restaurant. with its East Broward location and the Disneyworld crowd are not your customer here. The restaurant is beautifully designed and the food is outstanding. And unlike other Chinese restaurants there are not 120 dishes of mediocrity. Last night we had their exceptional won ton soup ($7.00), Szechuan wontons, orange beef, Hunan chicken with sesame, lemon chicken vegetable fried rice and asked to improvise on a Szechuan chicken dish. As always everything was excellent. Note that for those that get put off by small portions and high prices this is not for you. But for those of us that appreciate fine food with fine wine then this is your place. Price including tip including 4 glasses of wine, 4 main courses, 2 appetizers, and vegetable fried rice was about $275. Although we were 3 people the amount of food made us full but not stuffed. Highly recommend this place. Wish that other restauranteurs would care as much as RB on delivering exceptional food across a full menu.

Even though many dishes are not light, there's a lightness of touch and attention to seasoning that transcends every bite. Don't miss the shrimp and lobster dumplings and the chef special fried rice. We love this place, excellent wine list and delicious upscale Chinese style food. I say that because this is not your typical egg roll joint. Very up scale decor and menu the duck and steak are both outstanding. This is not to be mistaken for a cheap night out with some chow fon or lo main. I call it French food hong kong style.

Don't let the strip mall exterior fool you! This place has top notch food and service! Thank you Florida Yelpers for the great suggestion! Wonton soup was very light and simple...we added a bit of the spicy mustard sauce and it was great. The spicy szechuan shrimp was great...4 jumbo shrimp with veggies in a spicy sauce. The Buddha's delight was very fresh and light and had a great mix of veggies. The spicy orange beef was incredible...perfectly fried with the right amount of spice. The prices were a bit steep ($150 for 4 soups, 3 entrees, and 2 glasses of house wine) but the food and service were excellent. Even though I am only in town for a few days, I very well may return!

The restaurant is very elegant with a very professional and attentive wait staff. Zagat gave it a 26 for food and while I think it is delicious with a beautiful presentation and impeccable service I would rate it a 24. However I would point out that it is very expensive for Chinese food with entrees running from $26 to $45 and rice and. Eve table sides at $18. Since I am from NYC and have tasted some of their best the Rainbow would have some difficulty competing at the quality of the dishes at those prices.

Very good mea but overpriced. Came here with group of 5 who all wanted to share. Started with House Wonton soup which had good flavor but was sparse with only a couple wontons and 1 small shrimp. Apps of pork wontons and lobster/shrimp dumplings both very good. For entrees, we had the chef's fried rice, chicken in lemon and white wine, shrimp gwin jin, and a special rack of lamb that was roasted then fried to finish with chinese vegetables and a red wine sauce. The fried rice was fine but not memorable and the chicken was bland. Lamb chops and shrimp were both excellent but overpriced ($65 for lamb, $40 for 5 jumbo shrimp). Service was generally good but the wait between apps and entrees was way too long and in that time we could not get a server to refill wine glasses or bring more tea as both were empty which at this price point is not really acceptable. Total was about $65 per person with no desserts and only 2 people having wine. Overall good meal but average service and maybe 15-20% overpriced

Elegant and very pricy !! Food is fresh but not good. Everything lacks flavor and if you don't know you are in Chinese restaurant , the dishes can be of any ethnic origin. We went knowingly that prices r high with the expectation that food will be great. Portions are very small. Vegetables are overcooked For two of us the bill was $150. We shared an appetizer, one scallop cut in two with Grand Marnier sauce at $18. Enough for two small bites and outside of the price totally not memorable. Two main courses Roasted duck with black been sauce( 4-5 slivers of duck which was not cooked the same day. Heavy taste) overcooked vegetables in brown tasteless sauce. ) The sechuan scrimp was equally disappointing. Our bottle of wine was $35. I have had much better meals in tiny, Chinese restaurants with totally different price tag.

NO FORTUNE COOKIES HERE , JUST FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY. It was my birthday and the great Marqus Q took me out to this first class Cinese restaurant. It is not your run if the mill China Town restaurant. The restrooms are out of Good Housekeeping. The service is fantastic and fast as well as the food. It's a special place for that special person . It was like stepping into another time of Imperial China. The food and the service were great but I must stress that this a a special restaurant not what most people are used to, but do enjoy it is well worth it.

OMG- probably one of the best places I've ever eaten! Each dish you have bursts with unique flavors. We ordered won ton soup, orange beef, duck, and shrimp. Each was absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend eating here if you're in the area. It is a little pricey and I've been known to be a cheap skate, but I would easily fork over the money for this food, it was that good. Lunch prices were a little better, so if you're on a budget and want to try this place, give it a shot!

We dined here on a Saturday night. Reservations were honored on time. Very friendly staff. Two of us shared everything and there was plenty of food. We started off with Spring Rolls. Nice and crispy with a light sweet n sour sauce on the side. Next was crispy duck, off the bone, and delicious. Also we had an order of vegetable fried rice. The order was split for us at taleside. I ended up with a fantastic coconut cream pie. Together with two drinks, the check was around $95. This is an upscale beautiful restaurant. Parking is at meters, monitored 24 hours @ .50/hr so bring quarters.

Because it is by far the very finest Chinese food in Broward County, I have to give it five stars. There is no other Chinese restaurant that I have found that even comes close to the quality, uniqueness of menu and exquisite preparation as does Rainbow Palace. The Rainbow is kind of a classy and place. It isn't uncommon to see the women well dressed and men wearing coats and ties for dinner, though such isn't required. However, men wearing sleeveless "wife beater" shirts or women with short tops, flip flops and sporting tamp stamps would be totally out of place. Really good, top self Chinese restaurants are a rare find. One of the underlying reasons for that happens to be that Chairman Mao, in his zeal to knock off the bourgeoisie of China rounded up a good number of the Master Chefs, terminated them with extreme prejudice or otherwise enslaved them while destroying as many of the great recipes of China as he could get his bloody little hands on. Though you won't actually find those truly authentic great dishes of China's past glory days at Rainbow Palace, you will find dishes that come about as close as may be found anywhere in the area. The menu is unique and extensive. My first suggestion would be that, if you go to the Rainbow Palace, don't just go there to eat. Go there to enjoy a dinning experience. When you order; go slow. The portions aren't that large but if you have guests you may want to share so that everyone may enjoy the taste of as many offerings as possible. Rainbow is rather pricey, but not unreasonably so. And please, the use of the word "Rainbow" has nothing to do with signifying anything about the place as being "gay" or a gay hang; which it is not. How some people make that automatic assumption, I don't know, but silly as it may sound, some have.

We have been dining here for over 15 years! This restaurant has maintained the same fine quality food, service and atmosphere throughout the years! Prices are of course still higher than your above average Chinese restaurant, but you cannot compare the two! Dined there very early one night and we asked for a dish that a regular customer had been eating which was not on the menu, Shhhhhh don't tell, but they accommodated us as well since they weren't too busy at the time! The dish was outstanding! I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion or just when you feel like a delicious dinner with outstanding service!

When it comes to the food at Rainbow Palace, two words describe it: Yes! This review is for their take out service only. I don't think I will ever eat at the restaurant because the atmosphere is not my cup of tea. Besides, for me Chinese food and take out go hand in hand. The prices are very high if you compare this to your average Chinese joint; but since the options are limited to none in the area, it's a price I'm willing to pay if it will keep them around. I'm not sure how " authentic" the food is....I'm actually sick of putting this disclaimer... but good is good independently of authenticity. My points of reference for the quality of a Chinese restaurant are all the restaurants I wen to when I lived in San Francisco and New York City area. Quit yer yappin'. Their wonton soup is the best I've had in a long time. The broth is light, the julienned veggies crunchy and the wontons generous and wonderful. A great starter for a meal. Their shrimp and lobster dumplings are very good; however, I don't much care for the wasabi dipping sauce that accompanies them. Their spring rolls are just OK. Then again, all spring rolls are just OK at best in my book. I've tried several dishes and they are all very good. The two that stand out are the sesame shrimp because the shrimp flavor and the texture of those jumbo shrimp are amazing and go so well with the deep fried crust and the sweet sauce. The second one is the Buddha's delight. The veggies are flavorful and the sauce is delicious. Their rice is a bit goopy. Some people like that; but I prefer mine a bit less sticky. My one word of advice about Rainbow Palace: Go there.

Visited this restaurant many years ago and just revisited it. First off, this is definitely high end service and ambiance. The cost of your experience reflects this as well. The food on the other hand was not quite there. It was very good, believe me, but the quality didn't quite match the price. Table side service, decor and constant attention doesn't justify the bill. I'm there for a great meal, and it fell somewhat short. I strongly agree with the other reviewer Salvatore. I've been to Christina Wan's many times and never had a mediocre meal, and the price is definitely less. Have a nice experience and save some cash, go to Christina's.

OUTSTANDING!!! My boyfriend took me to Rainbow Palace for our Valentine's dinner on Friday night, the day before. We had a reservation and they have a very nice table by the window ready for us. The decor is very 80s, with traditional Chinese vases, paintings etc. The servers were all in tuxedos - the service was excellent! And the most important, our food! Wow, this was a fine dining gourmet Chinese menu. The food was cooked in the kitchen and brought out and served tableside by the server and bus boy. We ordered the lobster & shrimp dumplings and the Sesame Scallops with Grand Manier. The order brought 4 dumplings and 2 large scallops. Wow....the sauce on the scallops was heavenly, there were a myriad of flavors in your mouth, it had grand marnier, ginger, and the water chestnut flour on the scallops made it crispy! The lobster dumplings were filled with lobster and shrimp - and served with a honey-mustard soy sauce. Our Entrees: Wow times Two! I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp Hong Kong and my boyfriend the Crispy Steak,. The steak too had the water chestnnut flour!!! My Shrimp were JUMBO, and hte order brought 6. He and I shared both our entrees so we were able to have both! An amazing experience! A very nice wine list - I can't wait to go back!

This is probably one of the best restaurants in Florida. Marble interiors, waiters in tuxedos, highly-skilled experienced professionals. The food is stunning - incredible seafood dishes with unique and authentic sauces. Their lobster is better than that found in the best restaurants in Boston - huge lobsters removed from the shell and served with a light but delicious sauce. The duck is great - crispy outside but tender inside. Their variation on the classic American steak is unusually creative. They have a Chinese interpretation of the classic Italian fried calamari appetizer that rivals that of the finest Italian chefs. This nothing like the stereotypical white rice in a plastic-coated box strip mall takeout Chinese place. And don't go there looking for cheap meal - about $100 for dinner for two with soup, appetizer, entree and dessert. Its the kind of place to take a sophisticated guest when you want to be certain of a memorable occasion. High-end wine list. Desserts are the only purely American dishes, fresh chocolate cakes and others. In business at least 20 years. Owners on the premises.

The service at Rainbow Palace is always top notch. All of the waiters are extremely knowledgeable and they will treat you like royalty. The food is ridiculously tasty and their portion is large. Here's what I recommend getting for Appetizers: Duck Noodle Soup or Sesame Scallops Grand Marnier. The Duck Noodle soup is light but full of warm flavors. The scallops is crispy on the outside but tender and deliciously sweet on the inside. The Grand Marnier sauce is very well balanced and not overly sweet. For Entrees, I would recommend: Crispy Steak, Orange Beef or Lamb Chops. If the Lamb Chops special is available - go for that!! You can't go wrong with the Crispy steak. It's a prime cut, dusted with a water chestnut flour, wok fried, and thinly sliced over vegetables with a garlic, mushroom soy, burgundy wine sauce The Orange Beef is my favorite. It's perfectly marinated flank steak twice cooked to a wonderful taste of orange and mildly hot spices. Crispy on the outside, yet tastefully tender, with'a touch of Grand Marnier. What can I say, they know how to work their Grand Marnier. The sauce is so good, you'll want to drizzle it over everything. I would skip dessert.

And the crispy steak, the crispy fish dishes...Anything crispy is great. The lobster dumpling appetizers are absolutely delicious, we always order them. I've been driving by here for years Finally dove in. Upon entry, I was impressed by the initial decor. As you walk in, as you go through the dining room the decor is a little aged and very brightly lit. The bar area is nice The menu seems to have the same tasty sauce but limited variety. The grand mariner sauce is very good (we had scallops and duck) but as the food came by, it all looks the same I am not one to complain too much about price if it's warranted. Best takeout food ever. Ive never dined in but ive had takeout from here a few times and its gourmet and delicious. No weird fatty meats like most chinese food restaurants. I recommend sesame chicken, szechuan chicken and vegetable lo mein. One of these days when im not dressed so casual i may dine in :)

The food is good and service is great. Extensive wine list and food is perfected. But you have to pay a lot for all that. Tip: if you get take prices are 30-40% cheaper! Yes you forego the table side service but is that worth that much more plus another 20% tip? I think not. I won't be back for dine-in but will get take out. Lobster dumplings are good and worth a try. Specialty won ton soup not that special. Chinese eggplant was excellent -way different from American eggplant.

Another outstanding meal at Rainbow Palace. Place was crowded to the gills last night (Valentine's Day). Crowd made up of the wealthy regulars and newcomers. I hate to call it a Chinese Restaurant because the majority of people assume Chinese food stands for large portions of somewhat suspect animal meat and other who knows what condiments but for those of us privileged to eat at fine Chinese restaurants around the World, we can appreciate the best and hate the worst. Rainbow Palace defies your corner Chinese restaurant. with its East Broward location and the Disneyworld crowd are not your customer here. The restaurant is beautifully designed and the food is outstanding. And unlike other Chinese restaurants there are not 120 dishes of mediocrity. Last night we had their exceptional won ton soup ($7.00), Szechuan wontons, orange beef, Hunan chicken with sesame, lemon chicken vegetable fried rice and asked to improvise on a Szechuan chicken dish. As always everything was excellent. Note that for those that get put off by small portions and high prices this is not for you. But for those of us that appreciate fine food with fine wine then this is your place. Price including tip including 4 glasses of wine, 4 main courses, 2 appetizers, and vegetable fried rice was about $275. Although we were 3 people the amount of food made us full but not stuffed. Highly recommend this place. Wish that other restauranteurs would care as much as RB on delivering exceptional food across a full menu.

This was the best Chinese meal I've had outside of New York or San Francisco. Superb menu artfully prepared. Even though many dishes are not light, there's a lightness of touch and attention to seasoning that transcends every bite. Don't miss the shrimp and lobster dumplings and the chef special fried rice. We love this place, excellent wine list and delicious upscale Chinese style food. I say that because this is not your typical egg roll joint. Very up scale decor and menu the duck and steak are both outstanding. This is not to be mistaken for a cheap night out with some chow fon or lo main. I call it French food hong kong style.

Don't let the strip mall exterior fool you! This place has top notch food and service! Thank you Florida Yelpers for the great suggestion! Wonton soup was very light and simple...we added a bit of the spicy mustard sauce and it was great. The spicy szechuan shrimp was great...4 jumbo shrimp with veggies in a spicy sauce. The Buddha's delight was very fresh and light and had a great mix of veggies. The spicy orange beef was incredible...perfectly fried with the right amount of spice. The prices were a bit steep ($150 for 4 soups, 3 entrees, and 2 glasses of house wine) but the food and service were excellent. Even though I am only in town for a few days, I very well may return!

Wow, this may not be a hip spot for the young crowd but you can put your dollar on getting some great, authentic Chinese food. I can't remember having better Chinese. First time had me hooked! Great enviro, usually an older crowd. Old people know how to eat.

The restaurant is very elegant with a very professional and attentive wait staff. Zagat gave it a 26 for food and while I think it is delicious with a beautiful presentation and impeccable service I would rate it a 24. However I would point out that it is very expensive for Chinese food with entrees running from $26 to $45 and rice and. Eve table sides at $18. Since I am from NYC and have tasted some of their best the Rainbow would have some difficulty competing at the quality of the dishes at those prices.

Very good mea but overpriced. Came here with group of 5 who all wanted to share. Started with House Wonton soup which had good flavor but was sparse with only a couple wontons and 1 small shrimp. Apps of pork wontons and lobster/shrimp dumplings both very good. For entrees, we had the chef's fried rice, chicken in lemon and white wine, shrimp gwin jin, and a special rack of lamb that was roasted then fried to finish with chinese vegetables and a red wine sauce. The fried rice was fine but not memorable and the chicken was bland. Lamb chops and shrimp were both excellent but overpriced ($65 for lamb, $40 for 5 jumbo shrimp). Service was generally good but the wait between apps and entrees was way too long and in that time we could not get a server to refill wine glasses or bring more tea as both were empty which at this price point is not really acceptable. Total was about $65 per person with no desserts and only 2 people having wine. Overall good meal but average service and maybe 15-20% overpriced

Elegant and very pricy !! Food is fresh but not good. Everything lacks flavor and if you don't know you are in Chinese restaurant , the dishes can be of any ethnic origin. We went knowingly that prices r high with the expectation that food will be great. Portions are very small. Vegetables are overcooked For two of us the bill was $150. We shared an appetizer, one scallop cut in two with Grand Marnier sauce at $18. Enough for two small bites and outside of the price totally not memorable. Two main courses Roasted duck with black been sauce( 4-5 slivers of duck which was not cooked the same day. Heavy taste) overcooked vegetables in brown tasteless sauce. ) The sechuan scrimp was equally disappointing. Our bottle of wine was $35. I have had much better meals in tiny, Chinese restaurants with totally different price tag.

Decent decor but very overpriced. The food was average at best at prices you would expect for excellent Chinese food. The fried rice had no flavor at all. The server was nice, however my wife's order was a vegetarian option but there were shrimp in it when it arrived. Save your money and go elsewhere for better quality food.

NO FORTUNE COOKIES HERE , JUST FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY. It was my birthday and the great Marqus Q took me out to this first class Cinese restaurant. It is not your run if the mill China Town restaurant. The restrooms are out of Good Housekeeping. The service is fantastic and fast as well as the food. It's a special place for that special person . It was like stepping into another time of Imperial China. The food and the service were great but I must stress that this a a special restaurant not what most people are used to, but do enjoy it is well worth it.

OMG- probably one of the best places I've ever eaten! Each dish you have bursts with unique flavors. We ordered won ton soup, orange beef, duck, and shrimp. Each was absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend eating here if you're in the area. It is a little pricey and I've been known to be a cheap skate, but I would easily fork over the money for this food, it was that good. Lunch prices were a little better, so if you're on a budget and want to try this place, give it a shot!

We dined here on a Saturday night. Reservations were honored on time. Very friendly staff. Two of us shared everything and there was plenty of food. We started off with Spring Rolls. Nice and crispy with a light sweet n sour sauce on the side. Next was crispy duck, off the bone, and delicious. Also we had an order of vegetable fried rice. The order was split for us at taleside. I ended up with a fantastic coconut cream pie. Together with two drinks, the check was around $95. This is an upscale beautiful restaurant. Parking is at meters, monitored 24 hours @ .50/hr so bring quarters.

Because it is by far the very finest Chinese food in Broward County, I have to give it five stars. There is no other Chinese restaurant that I have found that even comes close to the quality, uniqueness of menu and exquisite preparation as does Rainbow Palace. The Rainbow is kind of a classy and place. It isn't uncommon to see the women well dressed and men wearing coats and ties for dinner, though such isn't required. However, men wearing sleeveless "wife beater" shirts or women with short tops, flip flops and sporting tamp stamps would be totally out of place. Really good, top self Chinese restaurants are a rare find. One of the underlying reasons for that happens to be that Chairman Mao, in his zeal to knock off the bourgeoisie of China rounded up a good number of the Master Chefs, terminated them with extreme prejudice or otherwise enslaved them while destroying as many of the great recipes of China as he could get his bloody little hands on. Though you won't actually find those truly authentic great dishes of China's past glory days at Rainbow Palace, you will find dishes that come about as close as may be found anywhere in the area. The menu is unique and extensive. My first suggestion would be that, if you go to the Rainbow Palace, don't just go there to eat. Go there to enjoy a dinning experience. When you order; go slow. The portions aren't that large but if you have guests you may want to share so that everyone may enjoy the taste of as many offerings as possible. Rainbow is rather pricey, but not unreasonably so. And please, the use of the word "Rainbow" has nothing to do with signifying anything about the place as being "gay" or a gay hang; which it is not. How some people make that automatic assumption, I don't know, but silly as it may sound, some have.

We have been dining here for over 15 years! This restaurant has maintained the same fine quality food, service and atmosphere throughout the years! Prices are of course still higher than your above average Chinese restaurant, but you cannot compare the two! Dined there very early one night and we asked for a dish that a regular customer had been eating which was not on the menu, Shhhhhh don't tell, but they accommodated us as well since they weren't too busy at the time! The dish was outstanding! I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion or just when you feel like a delicious dinner with outstanding service!

When it comes to the food at Rainbow Palace, two words describe it: Yes! This review is for their take out service only. I don't think I will ever eat at the restaurant because the atmosphere is not my cup of tea. Besides, for me Chinese food and take out go hand in hand. The prices are very high if you compare this to your average Chinese joint; but since the options are limited to none in the area, it's a price I'm willing to pay if it will keep them around. I'm not sure how " authentic" the food is....I'm actually sick of putting this disclaimer... but good is good independently of authenticity. My points of reference for the quality of a Chinese restaurant are all the restaurants I wen to when I lived in San Francisco and New York City area. Quit yer yappin'. Their wonton soup is the best I've had in a long time. The broth is light, the julienned veggies crunchy and the wontons generous and wonderful. A great starter for a meal. Their shrimp and lobster dumplings are very good; however, I don't much care for the wasabi dipping sauce that accompanies them. Their spring rolls are just OK. Then again, all spring rolls are just OK at best in my book. I've tried several dishes and they are all very good. The two that stand out are the sesame shrimp because the shrimp flavor and the texture of those jumbo shrimp are amazing and go so well with the deep fried crust and the sweet sauce. The second one is the Buddha's delight. The veggies are flavorful and the sauce is delicious. Their rice is a bit goopy. Some people like that; but I prefer mine a bit less sticky. My one word of advice about Rainbow Palace: Go there.

Visited this restaurant many years ago and just revisited it. First off, this is definitely high end service and ambiance. The cost of your experience reflects this as well. The food on the other hand was not quite there. It was very good, believe me, but the quality didn't quite match the price. Table side service, decor and constant attention doesn't justify the bill. I'm there for a great meal, and it fell somewhat short. I strongly agree with the other reviewer Salvatore. I've been to Christina Wan's many times and never had a mediocre meal, and the price is definitely less. Have a nice experience and save some cash, go to Christina's.

OUTSTANDING!!! My boyfriend took me to Rainbow Palace for our Valentine's dinner on Friday night, the day before. We had a reservation and they have a very nice table by the window ready for us. The decor is very 80s, with traditional Chinese vases, paintings etc. The servers were all in tuxedos - the service was excellent! And the most important, our food! Wow, this was a fine dining gourmet Chinese menu. The food was cooked in the kitchen and brought out and served tableside by the server and bus boy. We ordered the lobster & shrimp dumplings and the Sesame Scallops with Grand Manier. The order brought 4 dumplings and 2 large scallops. Wow....the sauce on the scallops was heavenly, there were a myriad of flavors in your mouth, it had grand marnier, ginger, and the water chestnut flour on the scallops made it crispy! The lobster dumplings were filled with lobster and shrimp - and served with a honey-mustard soy sauce. Our Entrees: Wow times Two! I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp Hong Kong and my boyfriend the Crispy Steak,. The steak too had the water chestnnut flour!!! My Shrimp were JUMBO, and hte order brought 6. He and I shared both our entrees so we were able to have both! An amazing experience! A very nice wine list - I can't wait to go back!

Hands down the best duck dish of my life. Crispy and delicious grand marnier duck is my favorite. A bit pricey but its worth it. They have won a ton of diamond awards and the waiters are really polite. Very fancy inside, you would never expect it for a Chinese food place. The ambiance was very nice but there were a lot of items that did not fit. The greatest test of authenticity is whether or not Asian people will eat here--I have seen none. The décor is quite reminiscent of a British-influenced Cantonese restaurant that one might find on Hong Kong Island; this assumption was quite on point. While the food was good, it was by no means a match for the price nor the percieved atmosphere. If one is tasting good Mandarin, Cantonese, or Szechuan/Hunan influenced food that tastes much better, I would advise you to try Christina Wan's on US1 just south of Sunrise. The composition of flavors is much better. While you will miss having the meal placed on your plate at the table or watching the server use a computerized pad to take your order, your palate will delight in the subtle complexities of Miss Wan's dishes. As a note, I have ordered the Yeung Chow fried rice and the Spicy chicken in brown sauce at both restaurants for proper comparison.

This is probably one of the best restaurants in Florida. Marble interiors, waiters in tuxedos, highly-skilled experienced professionals. The food is stunning - incredible seafood dishes with unique and authentic sauces. Their lobster is better than that found in the best restaurants in Boston - huge lobsters removed from the shell and served with a light but delicious sauce. The duck is great - crispy outside but tender inside. Their variation on the classic American steak is unusually creative. They have a Chinese interpretation of the classic Italian fried calamari appetizer that rivals that of the finest Italian chefs. This nothing like the stereotypical white rice in a plastic-coated box strip mall takeout Chinese place. And don't go there looking for cheap meal - about $100 for dinner for two with soup, appetizer, entree and dessert. Its the kind of place to take a sophisticated guest when you want to be certain of a memorable occasion. High-end wine list. Desserts are the only purely American dishes, fresh chocolate cakes and others. In business at least 20 years. Owners on the premises.

The service at Rainbow Palace is always top notch. All of the waiters are extremely knowledgeable and they will treat you like royalty. The food is ridiculously tasty and their portion is large. Here's what I recommend getting for Appetizers: Duck Noodle Soup or Sesame Scallops Grand Marnier. The Duck Noodle soup is light but full of warm flavors. The scallops is crispy on the outside but tender and deliciously sweet on the inside. The Grand Marnier sauce is very well balanced and not overly sweet. For Entrees, I would recommend: Crispy Steak, Orange Beef or Lamb Chops. If the Lamb Chops special is available - go for that!! You can't go wrong with the Crispy steak. It's a prime cut, dusted with a water chestnut flour, wok fried, and thinly sliced over vegetables with a garlic, mushroom soy, burgundy wine sauce The Orange Beef is my favorite. It's perfectly marinated flank steak twice cooked to a wonderful taste of orange and mildly hot spices. Crispy on the outside, yet tastefully tender, with'a touch of Grand Marnier. What can I say, they know how to work their Grand Marnier. The sauce is so good, you'll want to drizzle it over everything. I would skip dessert.
